THE PERFECT LAUNDRY ROOM

I don’t know about you, but my idea of a perfect afternoon isn’t spent in the laundry room. There are ways to make your experience a little better. The laundry room, like any other room, needs to be designed well so we have a list of things you should think about!

Storage

Arguably the most important things to think about when designing your laundry room! We like to make sure all countertops are clear and free from clutter so you can easily fold clothes when they come out of the dryer. This means making sure there is a place for everything. Hidden storage is also very important, have a look at our West 20th project below and you can see that everything has a place!

Hang drying

We try to be a green company and always push sustainable design so we love interesting and visually pleasing drying solutions. We love this drying rack from George & Willy.

Fun prints

Just because it’s a laundry room doesn’t mean you have to play it safe. Why not brighten up your room with some fun wallpaper prints! You can keep this space looking contemporary and fun with these pops of colour.

Lighting

I find lighting to be super important, especially in a laundry room. The majority of the time a laundry room has little or no natural light. When it comes to looking for stains this can be a little bothersome. We always spec white pot lights for the laundry room and under cabinet lighting where possible. You can never have enough light!

Steamer Closet

This is something we haven’t used before but we recently saw it at IDS Vancouver and thought that it could be an amazing addition to a laundry room—especially if you’re spending a lot of money on dry cleaning. We can’t comment on the usability but the reviews have mostly been very positive!

Comment blow. What would be on your wish-list for your laundry room space?
