RENOVATION | FAMILY HOME | LANGLEY

A classic farmhouse-style home with modern amenities. This renovation features the perfect mix of bold colours, natural elements, and traditional charm. The kitchen pops with its coat of 2062-20 Gentleman’s Gray by Benjamin Moore on the cabinets and island. The island is outfitted with its own sink and storage solutions which makes it perfect for entertaining or having family over. We added post details to the corners of the island for added character and to make it stand out as if it were a piece of furniture. Freestanding shelves with dark metal details complement the black hood fan and cabinet hardware. By using different textures and scale for the backsplash, we kept the design cohesive so all the intricate details have a chance to shine. The ribbed farmhouse sink grants the perfect cottage-like atmosphere.

Above, we outfitted the ceiling to be a focal point on its own. The beam detail with complementary black hardware (same as the open shelves) keeps it cohesive with the space. White shiplap between the beams adds more detail and elongates the room.

The kitchen flows into the dining room, which emotes the same style and feel. Double French doors bring in ample lighting and symmetry. We inlaid a herringbone pattern underneath the dining table to act as an area rug and add more detail to the flooring. The same quartz from the countertops was used for the fireplace, and the mantel was clad in the same wood as the beams above. Wall panel moulding adds more traditional charm to the dining room with added texture.

For the laundry room, we tied in the same open shelves as the kitchen to act as a connection between spaces. Even the barn door emulates the same wood and black hardware design. Using shiplap on the wall in the bathroom and large-scale tiling in the shower, we brought in a nice uniform feel so that the black lighting would pop. For practicality, we added a built-in bench and niche to the shower. The digital keypad controls the fully decked-out shower complete with body jets.

“Jamie’s team did a wonderful job with our remodel. They turned a nasty fixer-upper into a home that reflected our taste. All of our friends have been wowed by the end result. He's very responsive and takes a lot of pride in his work. We are so delighted by the result that we are using his team again for another project!”
