INTERMEDIATE ARCHITECTURAL TECHNOLOGIST
The Intermediate Architectural Designer will work directly with the President and Director of Design on the firm’s residential accounts. Successful candidates must have a strong level of experience in the Architecture and Construction industry, design development skills including the ability to create diversified design concepts, Cad drawings, renderings and permit drawings sets for various different client brands.
This role functions as a member of the management team and is responsible for monitoring all design aspects of projects – function, scope of services, schedule, and budget – to deliver the highest quality of work meeting our client’s expectations. It is important that candidates maintain excellent client and vendor relationships, have clear communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple design projects efficiently.
Typical work activities
Our firm is seeking someone who:
Participates in or leads programming and pre-planning design analysis.
Produce CAD drawings, renderings, permit drawings.
Compile data and perform dimensional and routine calculations required for the perperation of drawings and design layouts.
Research and develop design and product solutions.
Use technical manuals to ensure compliance with required codes and standards.
Understands budgets, schedules, and fees for a project.
Proven ability to self-manage and manage junior designers while working under pressure in a fast paced environment.
A minimum of three years experience in the Architecture and Construction industry.
Demonstrated knowledge in building technology including wood frame, steel and concrete construction.
Degree/Diploma in Architectural/Building Technology.
Strong working knowledge of the BCBC and VBBL and current building envelope practices.
Strong organization skills, collaborative, and team oriented in fast paced team environment.
Strong technical knowledge in building detailing and design.
Experience preparing Contract Documents and Contract Administration.
Excellent communication and graphic skills.
Interest in a wide range of project types including Architecture, Interiors and Planning.
Must be registered with the AIBC, or eligible to be registered in the province of British Columbia.
Attention to detail.

Strong corporate interior project experience, including all phases of design.
Must have a valid BC drivers licence.
Fluent in AutoCAD, Revit, Sketchup (Other design-related programs are a plus)
Adobe CS Suite and Microsoft suite an asset.
Highly organized with an attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
