The process of designing a renovating is tough. With so many choices and considerations, having Jamie Banfield and his team design our space was the esiest one to make.

We absolutely LOVE our renovation. We've been living in it for a couple of months now and we're still noticing little things and really seeing the value in Jamie's vision. We see those little bits of design genius shining through.

Touches we'd never have thought of doing, like the gold island pendent light bases that tie in the knobs in the powder room - just a touch of metallic to break up the black fixtures. The space feels so amazing. The choice of lacquer finishes on our cabinets are awesome to look at and to touch. I wouldn't have considered the texture with his input.

We have an offset light and mirror in the powder room that when I saw it on the plans, I was very skeptical, and I don't know how to explain it, but the two things being out of balance work together to create balance and a sense of calm. Every time we're in the space, there's something awesome and interesting to look at.

Jamie and Paige helped us select materials and fixtures that were in our dreams, and then helped us to match those dreams to our budget and they were always very responsive to our questions. The home feels like ours now, with a touch of Jamie Banfield design magic.

We found Jamie Banfield Design because their work reflects my design aesthetics, and we had just bought a condo that we wanted to turn into my dream home. Although the design process and the whole renovation happened during a pandemic, everything went as smoothly as we could have expected. The design contract was clear from the beginning and the company was always upfront about the billing so there were never any hidden surprises.

Jamie's team turned a walkthrough & design meeting of wants into detailed drawings and specifications within a reasonable time frame. They helped me wade through the deep dark hole that was furniture, fixtures, and tile shopping by presenting a narrowed down list of bite-sized choices. Ultimately, Jamie connected me with Condoworks who executed the design with minute detail; the 2 companies worked collaboratively to turn my vision into a real home. As a client, I was shielded from much of the complicated back-end stuff, but I knew there was meticulous work going on as reflected by the ultra high quality and beautiful end product. Despite some minor pandemic-related issues and delays, I put full trust that the solutions were always at hand.

At the end of it all, it was the ultimate cherry on top that Jamie had a professional photographer Janis Nicolay shoot our completed home, dare I say it probably belongs on a home design magazine cover? Thank you Jamie Banfield and team for designing such a special home for us!

Our design experience was fun, enjoyable and made stress free by the team at Jamie Banfield Design! After consultation, our design was completely personalized, the JBD team found materials, and finishes that reflected our tastes as well as lifestyle; making the house, our home.

We worked with Jamie and his intermediate designer Sascha Eagleton to entirely redesign our 1100sf townhouse in Vancouver. They were a pleasure to work with, and had wonderful solutions to maximize space usage, including almost doubling our kitchen footprint.

We enjoyed their intake process and appreciated how they listened to and implemented our style ideas for a modern-Nordic feel, responded promptly to our emails, communicated their ideas clearly, and were patient with our indecisiveness for certain decisions.

They also coordinated the application for building permits, which ultimately helped reduce delays in our project. In sourcing materials, they identified which finishes required a longer lead time to order, which was helpful for our contractor who was able to submit those orders right at the start of the project.

When having contractors quote on the job, we consistently received feedback that Jamie’s construction drawings were some of the best and most detailed plans the contractors had seen. This made the quoting process fast and accurate.

Our 26 year old kitchen was dark, dingy and not very efficient. We needed to keep the same footprint and it offered a great view of the garden.

The kitchen was to blend with the rest of the house. Jamie took us through the process of planning and designing (cabinets, lighting, countertops, etc. He also sourced cabinet maker, cabinet installer and general contractor etc.
